Faculty of Sciences

About the Faculty

Early in 2008, before the newly-formed Faculty of Sciences opened its doors, it was included in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. At the present, Faculty of Sciences includes three departments, including the Departments of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Informatics and Biology. These departments offer both undergraduate and graduate degree courses to students in the departments as well as to the students of other faculties at the KTMU, such as Veterinary, Engineering, Agricultural, and others.  Currently, there are five professors, six associate professors, four assistant professors, two instructors and six teaching and research assistants in the faculty. Each of the three departments admits students not only from Kyrgyzstan but also from Turkey, Central Asian countries and from all over the world.

Greetings from the Dean

I believe that there are many reasons for studying basic and natural sciences and mathematics in academic institutions. At least, there is a pleasure connected with them that is seldom found in any applied sciences such as engineering and other applied sciences. Can you imagine the enthusiastic of botanist, while traveling for whole days in the mountains and think himself how to be happy if he could add one new plant to the Flora of the country, the happiness of solving a mathematical equation and understanding the marvelous structure of a compound obtained in a chemical synthesis. Our best chances for overcoming the problems of humanity may also lie in basic sciences and in an improved understanding of our natural world.

Students come to study basic and natural sciences in our Faculty from very diverse social, economic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds from Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and other countries all over the Central Asia. The main vision of our Faculty at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University is to become the leader at European level in Central Asia by organizing and encouraging the founding of new programs considering international developments of the basic and natural sciences in the world and social needs of Kyrgyzstan and Turkey as well as the other Central Asian Turkish Communities.

We developed a slogan, as a key, to realize the objective, strategy and all the other plans of our university:  The future is in our own hands. Using this key, we believe that it is possible to bring Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University to the international level in a few years.
